WesEggs

WesEggs

Collection: WesEggs

It was 1990 and a very busy 9 year old Wes, was busting to have an income, pocket money just wasn’t cutting the mustard!

Wes’s pop, Jack suggested chickens. It wasn’t long after this idea had been planted that Wes and his Pop were off to buy the very first ladies to grace Wes’ backyard. Wes enlisted the help of some unsuspecting family and friends to build a large house for his newest love. It was on this day that a passion of all things chicken and eggs began and WesEggs was born.

It started with 10 chickens and before his parents Tim and Vicki knew, 50 chickens were clucking around their small acreage in Leopold, Victoria.

Now, at 9 years of age, most kids are riding bikes, jumping on trampolines, hanging with their mates and terrorising their parents, Wes was certainly doing the later, but not in the typical way you would think. Instead, he would be found down at the chicken coop with his mums hair dryer washing and preening his ladies. He would be in his room developing spreadsheets to track his profits and loss and budgeting feed and the purchase of more ladies!

This venture lasted another 9 years, and when Wes turned 18 he purchased his first house. As a result, WesEggs as he knew it then, had to come to an end.
When Wes was with his ladies, turning a profit and watching his small business grow was when he was truly in his element. From this very young age, he swore he would one day build an empire from a free range egg farm.

In 2007, Wes married Mandy, a girl from one of the larger cattle and sheep farms on the Bellarine Peninsula. Mandy is a Registered Nurse, with an absolute love of the rural and farming life. Together, they were determined to rebuild WesEggs and make it their own.
